LIVING ON THE EDGE OF THE WILD

"I find ecstasy in living: The mere sense of living is joy enough. . . .
My business is circumference." - Emily Dickenson

After spending 7 years living on our sailboat La Gitana sailing around the world, we came to appreciate how tiny and insignificant we humans can appear surrounded by the natural world that supports us. We are truly living on the edge of the wild, negotiating the borderlands that lay between the human and more-than-human worlds.

I explore those borderlands on my blog, writing about those years sailing, as well as the wildlife and natural habitats I encounter now living on the edge of a nature preserve.  I also write on books, poetry, writing, the arts, science, and philosophy.
